Hi everyone, I’m Kat, one of the Cold Water Cape’s local swimmers 🇿🇦
I’ve been open water swimming since around 2017, and I did my first Robben Island in 2018. From there, things escalated pretty quickly, and I’ve been lucky enough to swim he English Channel, around Manhattan and across False Bay solo (both ways), plus some pretty epic relay swims.
Next week, I leave for Northern Ireland, where I’ll be waiting and hoping for the weather to allow a North Channel crossing attempt. The North Channel is the English Channel’s meaner big brother. It is slightly longer, colder, and with big jellyfish. And I’m amped!
