Cape Triple Crown

South Africa’s Ultimate Open Water Challenge

The Cape Triple Crown is a premier endurance swim series that brings together three challenging and iconic open water swims in the Western Cape, South Africa.

Inspired by global marathon swim series, this regional triple crown is a test of resilience, skill, and adventure.

History

To earn the Cape Triple Crown title, swimmers must complete the following three swims:

False Bay Crossing

This swim is known for its epic scale, deep open water, and intense ocean conditions, making it one of the most daunting and respected marathon swims in Africa.

A Double Robben Island

The Double Robben Island Swim is one of Cape Town’s most iconic marathon swims and a core leg of the Cape Triple Crown. The route starts on the beach of Bloubergstrand, crosses the cold, current-swept waters of Table Bay to Robben Island, and then returns to the mainland.

Three Capes Swim

This breathtaking coastal swim starts at Maclear Beach, rounds Cape Maclear, the Cape of Good Hope, and the iconic Cape Point, with sheer cliffs on one side and the open Atlantic on the other. A dramatic route with complex currents and limited exit points.
